♿ July is Disability Pride Month! ♿
This July, we join communities around the world in celebrating Disability Pride Month, a time to recognize the gifts, contributions, and dignity of people with disabilities. The month commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990—a landmark civil rights law that protects the rights of people with disabilities.

The Disability Pride flag reminds us of the diversity within the disability community. Its five diagonal stripes represent different disability experiences:
❤️ Red – Physical disabilities
💛 Gold – Neurodiversity
🤍 White – Invisible and undiagnosed disabilities
💙 Blue – Emotional and psychiatric disabilities
💚 Green – Sensory disabilities
The charcoal background represents the resilience of the disability community and honors those whose lives have been impacted by ableism, discrimination, neglect, and violence.

As followers of Christ, we believe every person is created in the image of God and has unique gifts to share. This Disability Pride Month, may we continue building a church where all people are welcomed, valued, and empowered to participate fully in the life of our community.

💙 Happy Disability Pride Month!

Many thanks to The Rev. Canon Stephanie Spellers for her work and for spending an evening with us discussing what the future of the church may be. The conversation is just beginning! Stay tuned for opportunities to participate in reading groups over the summer, follow our social media channels for an online series, and be a part of a larger conversation in October.

To the question "Church Tomorrow?" we say "yes" - and open ourselves to the guidance of prophets who have a word to share with us.

On Juneteenth we remember and celebrate words of freedom and liberation. This history is our history. This story is our story. And there's more work to do.

Thank you to the Episcopalians that showed up to remember that Pride is a movement. We can't say it enough, and we can't stop marching: it takes all of humanity to reflect the image of God.
