Did you know?

Did you know Tarleton is the only University in the Texas A&M System that has 2 Full-Time Survivor Advocates? They are located in Student Counseling Services, Traditions North first floor, 254-968-9044.

Did you know our advocates can help survivors with on-campus needs like understanding the Title IX process, accessing academic support, addressing immediate safety concerns, and more? The advocates can also assist in connecting with off-campus resources when necessary.

Did you know our Survivor Advocates are in Honors Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m., and in Centennial Hall on Tuesdays from 5p.m. - 9 p.m.? No appointment necessary – just stop by.

Call us at 254-968-9044 or come by the bottom floor of Traditions North to learn more!

AAUW: Empowering Women Since 1881 04/10/2018

There are 20 days left in April. I'm going to try to post every day about how women are still treated unequally (79 ways). These 79 ways were published by AAUW. http://aauw.org

79. AAUW's first research report in 1885 debunked the then-common idea that education was bad for women's health.

78. In 2010, about 49 percent of community colleges provided on-campus day care, compared to 5;7 percent of four-year public schools and just 9 percent of four-year private schools.

77. Within six years of enrolling in community college, almost half of the students have not completed a degree, received a certificate, or transferred. In other words, they drop out.

76. Title IX affects educational gender equity beyond sports. The law also applies to access to STEM fields and others, protection from sexual harassment and assault, rights for pregnant and parenting students, and more.
