ACEC MD Grand Award Winner!

Alpha received the Grand Award at the 2026 ACEC/MD Engineering Excellence Awards for our work on the I 270 Innovative Congestion Management Project with MDOT SHA.

Alpha’s own Stephen McVeigh, PMP led delivery of Maryland’s first Progressive Design Build delivery project. This $120M public investment transformed one of Maryland’s busiest corridors implementing the state’s first ramp metering system, improving safety, mobility, and daily commutes for thousands through integrated planning, ex*****on, and delivery.

We are so proud of Stephen and his team for their outstanding delivery of this important project. The award was accepted by Stephen McVeigh, PMP; Jason Backover, CCM; Heidi VanLuven, PE; and Kathleen Linehan, PE on behalf of the Alpha team.
