Today we remember the United States Marines who invaded Iwo Jima on February 19, 1945 and raised our flag. May Iwo Jima Day always honor their sacrifices and their memory.

This past Sunday, I was able to be with our veterans commemorating Pearl Harbor Day. It was an honor for me to speak at the ceremony remembering the 2,403 lives lost on December 7, 1941 and honoring my friend, Bert Tremblay. The ceremony was held aboard the USS Salem and was hosted by the Quincy and Braintree Veterans Service Offices who did a great job.

Honored to read some of the names of those who have given their lives for our freedom at Massachusetts Run For The Fallen in Dedham.

“A person is not dead while his name is still spoken.”

We are looking forward to Norwood Day this Saturday. What a great community event. Hope to see you there!
