Have you ever realized that something wasn’t the destination at all, but the proof that you could create it?

A garden can be designed with the utmost care. It may be beautiful… yet adjustments are still needed.

One plant longs for more sun.
Another needs more shade.
Some thrive, while others quietly struggle.

Sometimes in life, we create exactly what we once dreamed of… yet somehow, it blooms gray.

We can always bloom where we are planted.

Yet…

To truly radiate in full bloom, we must answer that quiet place deep within us—the place that continues reaching toward the sun, the stars, and the life that fits our soul.

Perhaps some dreams are never meant to be permanent destinations.

Perhaps they come into our lives to prove that we can dream… create… and make something beautiful.

Perhaps they fill a part of us we never knew needed filling.

And so perhaps, in creating them, we discover what our hearts have truly been longing for all along.

Do what you love. If only to dream a bit… because dreams can become reality.

I understand everything he says.

I read Theo of Golden and absolutely loved it. Afterward, I researched Allen Levi’s journey, and honestly, he is one of the reasons I chose to self-publish rather than pursue a traditional publisher.

The gratitude he expresses is exactly what I have been feeling. Word of mouth matters. Sharing matters. Every recommendation is a gift.

It reminds me of our pollinators. They move from flower to flower, quietly carrying pollen that helps create more blooms—and even much of the food we eat. They don’t realize the impact they’re making, but it is extraordinary.

I also smiled when he spoke about the character Theo and how he wanted to continue that journey. I understand that completely. That’s how I feel about Faith, a character I reference in The Blee Book. Some characters become part of us, and we aren’t quite ready to let them go.

If you haven’t read Theo of Golden, I highly recommend it. It is a beautiful book.

Allen Levi, thank you for having the courage to self-publish and for reminding writers like me that sometimes the quiet path is the right one.

Thank you to everyone who has shared The Blee Book with a friend, a family member, or simply by telling someone about it. Your kindness means more than you know.

Do what you love. If only to dream a bit. Because dreams can become reality.

If I could describe this plumeria’s journey right now…

Discarded.

Rejected.

Resilient.

I picked it up from a pile of discarded pieces.

I planted it.

I moved it.

And now… almost a year later…

It blooms brilliantly.

If I had to capture my heart right now…

Discarded.

Rejected.

Resilient.

I believed in the plumeria.

And you believed in me.

I have now sold more books than the number of agents I submitted my manuscript to.

It may never be a bestseller, but my heart is overflowing.

That is because of the love and support of friends near and far—and now, a few new acquaintances as well.

One message I received this morning brought the gentlest of tears.

“I love, love, love this book (especially since my furbaby is mentioned)! It’s delightful, soulful, and uplifting. Nice job on the illustrations, Karen!”

Today, my heart simply says…

Thank you.

I leave you with one last thought…

Where have you felt discarded?

Where have you felt rejected?

Let your resilience bloom.

Do what you love. If only to dream a bit. Because dreams can become reality.
