As we wrap up Mental Health Awareness Month, Martin County Fire Rescue is thrilled to announce we have added sensory kits to all of our rescue trucks.๐
These essential care packages are designed to provide comfort, reduce anxiety and improve the overall transport experience for patients with special needs.
Each kit contains calming and tactile items such as noise-reducing headphones, fidget toys, sensory objects and other comfort tools intended to help patients self-regulate during stressful situations.
The use of sensory kits during EMS transport can help decrease sensory overload caused by lights, sirens, confined spaces and unfamiliar environments.
By providing appropriate sensory stimulation and calming resources, these kits may reduce agitation, improve communication and cooperation, lower anxiety levels and create a safer and more positive interaction between patients and first responders.
Please join us in celebrating the grand opening of our newly renovated Dispatch Telecommunications Center!๐จ๐
On average, Martin County Fire Rescue dispatchers answer 66,000 emergency calls each year. This new, state-of-the-art center will help MCFR and MCSO respond even more efficiently and effectively to crises across Martin County.
Thank you to everyone who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning, including members of the Martin County Sheriffโs Office, Jupiter Island and Stuart Police Department, local dignitaries and media outlets.
