According to an indictment, Lorenzo Turner, a U.S. citizen living in Washington D.C. and registered s*x offender:

➡️Enticed, harbored and transported one child victim to engage in commercial s*x acts
➡️ S*x trafficked a second child

If convicted, Turner faces the possibility of life in prison.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is warning families about the growing threat of financial s*xtortion targeting children, a crime that has led to tragic deaths across the country.

One mother shared how her 17 year old son, James Woods, died by su***de in 2022 after being targeted by online predators who allegedly coerced him into sending a compromising video before demanding money and threatening to release it.

Tamia Woods testified before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, urging parents to talk openly with their children about s*xtortion and online exploitation.

According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, more than 50,000 reports of financial s*xtortion were received in 2025, up from more than 36,000 reports the previous year.

The defendant, Amador Mendoza Jr., abused her for years, beginning when she was seven, continuing until she turned 14, when Mendoza was arrested. A jury has now found the 57-year-old man guilty of Continued S*xual Abuse of a Child, sentencing him to 70 years in prison with no parole.

To protect s*xual assault survivors, the DA’s Office does not release names or identities.

In August 2024, Mendoza responded to a Reddit post made by an undercover investigator with the Indiana State Police, posing as a man willing to traffic a young girl in exchange for a young girl Mendoza knew. Mendoza escalated the conversation, sharing s*xually explicit images of children. Local and federal authorities were notified, and Mendoza was arrested. Further investigation led to the discovery that Mendoza had been committing years of s*xual abuse.
