Calcasieu Emergency Response Training Center
CERTC is located on the gulf coast and is striving to be the best emergency training facility for industrial, municipal and volunteer emergency responders.
Due to the effects of Hurricane Laura, the Calcasieu Emergency Response Training Center is closed until further notice so that damage assessments and repairs can be made to the facility.
The Calcasieu Emergency Response Training Center is actively working to comply with the Sate of Louisiana Phase 1 re-opening mandates. All classes are cancelled through May 31, 2020.
We are working to determine the limitations that will affect the scheduling of classes based on classroom occupancy to meet the Phase 1 requirements.
Staff is meeting this week to work on the logistics of re-opening the facility and information will be released to clients as soon as those requirements are finalized.
The safety and well being of our staff and clients are of the utmost concern and we will work to provide a safe and sanitary training center to accommodate the needs of our industrial and municipal clients.
The safety and well-being of our staff and clients are of the utmost importance. The following memorandum details the cancellation of scheduled classes at CERTC. We will continue to monitor the situation and update clients if their scheduled classes will be affected.

CERTC had the opportunity to host the Big Rig Rescue class two times at our facility. Instructor Billy Leach provided a vast array of knowledge and techniques to the attendees from SWLA. Mr. Leach passed away suddenly last night. He made a mark on emergency response services by providing information about unusual incidents we don't face every day. RIP Billy Leach.
