Hurricane season is here! 🌀

Now is the time to review your insurance — not when a storm is already in the forecast.

A few important reminders:

🏠 Homeowners Insurance –Take a few minutes to review your homeowners policy and make sure your coverage still fits your needs. One area we’ve seen many homeowners underinsured is Other Structures Coverage. Be sure to check that you have enough coverage for detached garages, shops, sheds, fences, barns, and other structures on your property.

🌊 Flood Insurance – Flood damage is generally not covered under standard homeowners, renters, or rental dwelling policies. A separate flood policy is typically needed. Keep in mind that flood insurance generally has a 30-day waiting period before coverage becomes effective, so don’t wait until a storm is approaching.

🛋️ Renters Insurance – Your landlord’s insurance generally covers the building, not your personal belongings. Renters insurance can help protect your furniture, clothing, electronics, and other personal items from covered losses.

🚗 Auto Insurance – Comprehensive coverage can help protect your vehicle from covered weather-related damage, including wind, hail, falling objects, and flooding.

🚤 Boats & Personal Watercraft – If you own a boat or personal watercraft, now is a great time to review your coverage before hurricane season gets into full swing.
