THANK YOU!!!

Good news! Thanks to the generosity of friends and neighbors like you, Make a Senior Smile was able to donate over 130 care packages to SAGE Eldercare yesterday, just in time for Valentine’s Day! Because of you, local seniors will now receive special care packages including everything from warm socks and blankets to candy, cookies, puzzle books, and homemade cards with their Meals on Wheels.

A huge thank you to everyone who came together to help donate items and bring a little cheer to our Summit-area seniors!

Thanks to Terry Kaniuk at SAGE Eldercare and to all of the Meals on Wheels volunteers who provide such important care and support to our seniors every day.

Thanks also to Antonietta LeVecchia at The UPS Store 5872 for partnering with us again this year to provide an additional drop-off site downtown.

Thanks to the Girl Scouts for the beautiful homemade cards; Ernesta in downtown Summit for the paper flower bouquets; and special thanks also to Jennifer Hopkins and the Springfield-Hillside Elks Lodge #2004 for your very generous donations!

Make a Senior Smile delivered a little holiday cheer yesterday, dropping off over 30 care packages to SAGE Eldercare for our Summit-area seniors. Special thanks to those donated homemade Christmas cards!

MAKE A SENIOR SMILE is back—and asking for your help to bring a little cheer to our Summit-area seniors!

Make a Senior Smile gathers items for special care packages to be delivered to local seniors through SAGE Eldercare's Meals on Wheels program. Over the past four years, this hometown student-run service project has donated hundreds of care packages to our Summit-area seniors—all thanks to the generosity of friends and neighbors like you!

To donate, simply drop off items at 160 OAK RIDGE AVENUE here in Summit (in the container by the front door) and or at The UPS Store 5872 downtown (55 Union Place) and we’ll make sure they’re wrapped and delivered to SAGE Eldercare for their Meals on Wheels program. (Please make sure any donations left at UPS are clearly marked “Make a Senior Smile.”)

The deadline to donate is MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17th.

Suggested items include: granola/protein bars, low-sodium soups (pull-tab, easy-open cans only), single-serving food cups, cookies, crackers, and candy, warm blankets and socks, and homemade cards. Other items welcome!

We’re also accepting donations of crosswords, sudoku, and puzzle books, which help to stimulate the mind and promote relaxation and mental and physical healing.

All items must be new and do not have to be Thanksgiving Day themed. If you’re donating food, expiration dates must be in December 2025 or later. Because these items are for seniors, low-sodium/low-sugar items are preferred.
