Tonight, July 1, 2025, at 6:30 P.M., the City of Summit Common Council will consider adopting an amendment to the Historic Preservation Ordinance.*
"Ordinance Summary: The proposed ordinance repeals the City’s existing Historic PreservationCommission rules and procedures to be replaced with a new Historic Preservation Ordinancelocated in Chapter 35, Development Regulations. The new Historic Preservation Ordinance willupdate the rules and procedures for the Historic Preservation Commission, designate certainhistoric landmarks and districts, create a new permit review process for historic preservationapplications and associated permit review fee for administrative costs, and establish violationsand enforcement procedures."
