Drop off donations at the library through Tuesday, December 2nd. The grade with the most donations earns a special reward!

Members of the Shaw Spouses Club prepared gift bags for the annual Shower Shaw with Goodies program on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Meeting House in Memorial Park.

Running for more than 30 years, the program is designed to provide a sense of support and family to Shaw Air Force Base members who are away from home during the holiday season. This year, almost 900 soldiers and airmen will receive a gift. The items included come thanks to donations from local schools, churches and other organizations.

"This is always one of my favorite events. It really shows the Sumter community coming together � and it really touches the hearts of the people that receive [the donations] because these men and women are without their families," said Bridie Hicok, member of the Shaw Spouses Club. "This is a little bit of home, and especially knowing that it comes from the Sumter community shows how much this community really cares and wants to give back to Shaw."

Drop off goodies on Tuesday, December 3rd, from 9 AM to 3 PM.
Location: Memorial Park Meeting House, 118 N. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC.

Join us in bringing a little holiday spirit and love to our Airmen and Soldiers at Shaw AFB!

In collaboration with the Sumter community and the Shaw Spouses' Club, we are excited to present "Shower Shaw with Goodies." Our goal is to provide gifts to 900 Air Force and Army members, showing our gratitude for their service.

We invite nonprofit organizations, businesses, religious organizations, schools, clubs, civic organizations, and individuals to donate items from our list of goodies, which includes:

Candy canes
Plain candy kisses/chocolate mini bars
Microwave popcorn
Mini bags of pretzels or cookies
Hot chocolate (individual packages)
Monetary donations are also welcome to provide gift cards for local downtown Sumter bakeries and eateries.

Please share our flyer with your organization(s) and club/memberships (attached).
