Last month, Sumter Utilities participated in the Alabama Rural Electric Association (AREA) 2026 Annual Meeting & Tradeshow in Montgomery, Alabama.

This event brings together Alabama's electric cooperative network and its industry partners each year for a mix of governance, education, and connection, and it's one we're glad to be a part of. Keith Ferguson, Superintendent, attended on behalf of Sumter.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

In our industry, safety goes beyond hard hats and harnesses; it’s about protecting what’s inside our heads, too. Together, we can build not only power infrastructure but a culture of care, founded on a strong support system for one another.

Check in on your crews, share resources, and remember: asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. This Mental Health Awareness Month and beyond, let’s look out for one another, on and off the job site. 💚
