In approximately 2 hours, our 6th-8th grade students will take the ELA SC READY test (Day 1/2). This is an important opportunity for our students to show what they’ve learned and the growth they’ve made this year, and we are excited to see them shine.

We need your support to ensure every student is set up for success.

Please make sure your child arrives to school on time today. Students should bring their Chromebook fully charged and their charger with them. This is critical for testing.

Also, students should not bring cell phones or electronic devices into the testing environment. We strongly encourage those items to be left at home so students can remain focused and avoid any disruptions.

It is also very important that students are present for testing today. We ask that you avoid scheduling appointments or early dismissals on testing days, as once testing begins, we are not able to interrupt students.

Students have the opportunity to earn points each day of testing that can be used to attend upcoming events like Field Day and our Talent Show. These points are earned by being present, giving their best effort, taking their time, and staying fully engaged throughout the entire test.

We want to be very clear: many of these points are earned simply by being present on the day of the test. Being here matters. Showing up ready matters.

We are encouraging all students to take their time, read carefully, show their work, and use every minute available. There should be no rushing and no early finishing. This is their time to demonstrate what they know.

Parents, your encouragement this morning morning makes a difference-remind them that they are capable, and send them to school confident and ready.

Students, we believe in you. Today is your moment to rise and show what you can do.

Thank you for your continued support of Furman Middle School. Together, we are building lives of excellence, purpose, and integrity.
