One of the most common questions I get when I talk to prospective parents is "How do you incorporate social-emotional learning?" This week, I managed to capture a great SEL moment on video.
I introduced "buddy reading" to our classroom this week in an effort to encourage more reading. Before we began reading, we talked about how we each want to be treated when we make a mistake. As a team, we decided that we want to know about our mistakes so we can fix them, but we want our classmates to be gentle with us.
I absolutely loved the way that these two work together, and the gentle, careful support they demonstrate. Great job, guys!
