Does this stunning red shouldered hawk (we've named her Rita) look fat and happy? That's because she discovered the all-you-can-eat buffet of baby chicks. Mama started with 11 in the garden, and getting down to just 3, has moved them into your security of the coop and covered run. But Rita was still hoping for brunch today. I actually had to shoo her away. I can't blame a girl for wanting a fresh breakfast! And she's so pretty!

Happy boys trust me enough to settle in for a nap at my feet!
