In observance of Juneteenth, the Swarthmore Co-Op will be operating with adjusted hours, 9AM-5PM, on Friday, June 19th.

Juneteenth commemorates the day, June 19th in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom, more than two years after the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a day to honor Black history, celebrate freedom, and reflect on the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice.

We encourage our community to take time to learn, reflect, and participate in local Juneteenth celebrations and events.
