Pacoima Sediment Removal Project Community Meetings
Contrary to what its name suggests, the Pacoima Reservoir is located right here in Sylmar – just north of El Cariso Park. The Los Angeles Department of Public Works (LADPW) Pacoima Reservoir Sediment Removal project could have massive and long-lasting effects on our community, and community involvement is critical to minimize such impacts.
About the Project
The LADPW has hasn’t cleaned out the Pacoima Reservoir for over 30 years. Now they must remove an amount of accumulated sediment that could fill the Rose Bowl seven times over! How they will remove it is of great importance to the health and well-being of Sylmar.

LA Department of Public Works (LADPW) meetings are listed below and on the LADPW’s flyer. There you’ll learn the options the LADPW is currently proposing for the project. A big turnout at these meetings will show the LADPW that Sylmar cares! Meeting dates/times are:
