Welcome to IBU, Syracuse's first teaching brewery. IBU's mission is to craft some of the finest beer available, while offering a space for others to come and learn about the wonderful world of brewing and beer.

IBU is the brainchild of Michael Mintier, a Syracuse transplant that has been brewing for the last decade (when he was not traveling for work). Combining his love of building, brewing, and learning Michael decided to combine the love of teaching (nicknamed “Captain Science”) with a traditional microbrewery. In doing so he hopes to create a community space where people can come to learn, brew, and enjoy a few.

IBU is located at 3703 Brewerton Rd. in Salina just off of I-81 exit 26. Located behind the Mr. Tire in a former print shop. We are a brewery, bar and and offer classes on beer and brewing. Please Like us and check back often to see our new offerings and events.
