Katey and I are extremely proud of our daughter, who has persevered since this past fall. Like trying anything new, it was a rough start but she quickly got acclimated to the ice. We are extremely excited to see how our kids — we will be signing up our youngest when he becomes of age — grow and succeed through the program.

Major kudos to the MACC, its coordination and coaching staff, which has an incredible program.

Whether or not we have a future women’s hockey team gold medalist, it’s too early to be determined. However, I’m confident to say our little girl is going to be a strong and determined individual. I hope she continues to exude Katey’s level of confidence through her journeys.

By the time she’s an adult, we can only hope the respect for women in sports will only grow.

Our country and thinking are backwards in so many ways, and as a society, we should have grown out of many societal setbacks at this point. Yet, we haven’t grown up.
