Buying a first home or finding a smaller place to retire shouldn’t feel out of reach.

As Onondaga County grows, we need to prioritize housing people can actually afford, including more starter homes for young families and seniors ready to downsize.

That’s the kind of responsible growth I’ll fight for in the County Legislature.

Man, time flies when you’re having fun and doing good work with great people.

Let’s go ahead and address the elephant in the room, and no, I am not talking about myself 🐘. Six years ago, I was quite literally twice the man I am today.

At the time, I had come home from Durham, North Carolina during my summer break as a teacher. I was newly divorced, going through a difficult chapter, and just looking for something to keep me busy.

I had no idea I was walking into one of the best chapters of my life.

I started as an Administrative Assistant, later came back as a Constituent Liaison, and eventually moved home for good to join her office full-time. Not long after, I was promoted to Communications Director, a role I’ve been grateful to serve in ever since.

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it: working for Assemblymember Hunter is like having a front-row seat to a masterclass in public service.

Six years later, I’m still grateful to wake up every day, do work I believe in, help people who need it, and learn from one of the best.

Kevin Meaker sponsored the bill that created 12 year term limits for members of the Onondaga County Legislature. But when Democrats proposed applying that same 12 year limit to the County Executive, he voted no.

People are tired of the same old political games. It’s time for A New Way Forward.

My opponent has already made one thing clear: he’s willing to spend whatever it takes and say whatever it takes to hold onto power.

Onondaga County Park beaches will be free as Central New York continues to get hit with the hottest temperatures it has felt so far this year.

The beaches at Jamesville Beach Park and Oneida Shores Park will be free today through Sunday, Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon announced Thursday.
