Rediscovering my running joy

A lil running update from me 🙂 4 months s8nce my last run event and it has been great. More weekly rest days, focussing on sleep with no early weekend mornings (or race day stomachs ), and doing new fun things like dance lessons 😀

I've slowly been getting more excited to run longer and run how I want to run. Not for times, just to go out and crush grey zone miles. Today I got a total of 15 miles in and stamina-wise it was great, but my increases in weights during workouts caused my hips to be really sore most of the run. But still, I wanted to keep going. It's a good sign that I'm starting to enjoy it again 😁 I mean, it being sunny definitely helped to!

Ambassador or badge collector 🤔

By now, most of us know the game. We get into running, love it, see a brand we use and/or like have ambassador applications, and apply. And, it feels so good to be picked; almost a feeling of validation 🤗 my observations, no shade 🙏

Nuun Hydration. I used only Nuun for years with great flavors & results. After a couple years, you realize a. very few, if any, people applying get rejected b. there are no real perks except a discount (and not on brand gear) & c. there are simply too many hydration powder/tablet options that it's silly to be loyal to one brand. I have so much Nuun and still use it, but I am almost exclusively using Advocare products these days; thanks 😁

Honey Stinger is a similar story as Nuun (minimal exclusivity & perks). I do like their products a lot. The waffles are superb and I used their gels for a long stretch of races 🐝

ProCompression, practical & functional colorful socks to accentuatea run kit 🤌 nothing bad about the product, PC makes great compression products and ALWAYS have great deals (so much so you don't need an ambassador discount!). But I actually haven't raced in compression socks much over the past 1.5 years so I didn't hype them up as much. There are so many compression sock (and sleeve) brands out there too which makes it hard to focus on just one 🤷‍♂️

Goodr Sunglasses 🦩 I don't run in sunglasses very often, but I really like Goodr sunnies. They were the only brand I applied for in 2025 & it was nice to experience being a member of the but, I definitely don't need any more sunglasses and, again, no real perks. I will add that I honestly prefer Goodr to Knockaround. Goodrs just fit on my face better and more comfortably 😁

League of Garmin (21-25) It's a thing 🤷‍♂️ I wear Garmin watches and think I applied 🤔 but unless you sign up to do more, it's almost zero interaction-there's an email.

I am very appreciative these brands have ambassadors 🙏because they don't have to do anything special for us runners! Plus, the other people you get connected with that help hype you up are the real benefit 🫶
