๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ•๏ธ What an incredible year for Scouting With 692! ๐Ÿ•๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰

Last month at the Rainier District Awards Banquet, our Scouting family had a lot to celebrate! We are proud to share that Troop 692 was named Troop of the Year โ€” a huge honor that reflects the leadership, teamwork, and dedication of our Scouts and volunteers.

And the awards didnโ€™t stop there!

โญ Jason Peters, Eagle Scout and former Senior Patrol Leader, was named Senior Patrol Leader of the Year for Rainier District.

โšก Michelle Brownell, Pack 692 Committee Member and Activities Chair, received the Spark Plug Award for her incredible commitment to our Cub Scouts. Michelle works tirelessly to help create fun, engaging, and high-quality scouting experiences for every Cub Scout in Pack 692, organizing activities and events that bring energy, adventure, and community to the program.

๐Ÿบ Kayla Varga, Pack 692 Wolf Den Leader, was recognized as Rainier District Den Leader of the Year. Kaylaโ€™s dedication to providing a fun, engaging, and high-quality scouting experience for every Scout in her Den has made a lasting impact on our young Cubs and their families.

๐ŸŒ‰ Justin Lewis, Troop 692 Committee Chair, received the Bridge Builder Award from the Olympic District. Justin was recognized not only for all of his hard work supporting Scouts in the Rainier District, but also for his contributions across the Olympic District as well. The Bridge Builder Award honors individuals who help connect units, programs, and events โ€” and in Justinโ€™s case, even build bridges between Scouting districts to strengthen the Scouting program for everyone in the Pacific Harbors Council.

๐Ÿงญ Clark Whitehead, Pack 692 Committee Chair, earned Pack Committee Chair of the Year for Rainier District.

On top of these amazing honors, Pack 692 and Troop 692 had several other nominations, highlighting the strength and spirit of our entire Scouting community.

Weโ€™re also proud that our Charter Organization, the Swiss Sportsmenโ€™s Club of Tacoma, was recognized by the Rainier District for their continued support of Scouting.

๐Ÿ‘ These awards represent hundreds of hours of volunteer service, youth leadership, outdoor adventure, and a commitment to helping young people grow into capable leaders.

Congratulations to everyone in Scouting With 692 โ€” Scouts, leaders, families, and supporters. The future is bright, and the adventure continues! ๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿ”ฅโšœ๏ธ

09/11/2025

Today, as we pause to remember the events of 9/11, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the countless acts of courage and kindness that followed.

In the days after, our nation stood together โ€” neighbors helped neighbors, strangers became friends, and unity gave us strength. That same spirit of service and brotherhood is at the heart of Scouting.

As Scouts, letโ€™s carry that spirit forward: be kind, be helpful, and stand united in making our world a better place. Even the smallest good turn can spark hope.

Let us remember, and let us continue to serve

โšœ๏ธ Troop 692 Life Scout Ava Whitehead Completes 2nd Year as CIT at Camp Parsons! โšœ๏ธ

This summer, Life Scout Ava Whitehead proudly represented Troop 692 for her second year as a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) at Camp Parsons! ๐Ÿ‘

The CIT program is a leadership development experience for Scouts aged 14โ€“15, designed to prepare future summer camp staff by building skills in leadership, teaching, and camp operations. Over the week, Ava worked alongside seasoned staff, supported camp programs, and continued growing as a Scout leader.

Joining Ava was Scouts BSA Troop 841, Federal Way Star Scout Evelyn, completing her first year in the CIT program. Fun fact: Ava and the rest of Troop 692G were honored to attend Troop 841โ€™s very first Court of Honor in 2023 โ€” a special connection that made this shared CIT experience even more meaningful.

Way to go, Ava and Evelyn! Keep leading the way! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™
