Over the next six weeks, I’ll be sharing a video series centered around the 6 Guiding Principles of RAISING A LEGACY —the principles that have shaped our family, strengthened our relationships, and inspired the work of The 7 Hearts Project.
💜 Everyday Moments Build Legacy
💜 Leadership Starts at Home
💜 Presence Over Perfection
💜 My Kids Teach Me Leadership Every Day
💜 Growth Comes From Grace
💜 Legacy Is Lived, Not Left
My hope is that these videos encourage you to embrace the small moments, lead with intention, and create a legacy of kindness, purpose, and impact within your own family.

Want to get your teenage boys excited about giving back? Start by showing them examples like this incredible duo who turned an idea into action. 🙌
Day Brown and Ford Brown created their own nonprofit, DoublePlay, collecting gently used youth sports equipment and donating it to children in the City of Tallahassee’s Youth Sports Program. They saw a need, took initiative, and made sure more kids could get in the game. Now that’s leadership in action!
👏 Nice work, boys!
3 Tips to Get Your Teenager Involved in the Community:
1️⃣ Let them lead. When teens feel ownership—like creating, organizing, or choosing the cause—they become invested.
2️⃣ Connect service to their passions. Sports, music, animals, mentoring—service feels meaningful when it aligns with what they already love.
3️⃣ Start small, stay consistent. A single act can spark confidence, but regular involvement builds compassion, responsibility, and purpose.
Raising kids who serve others doesn’t just help the community—it builds character that lasts a lifetime. 💛
Teaching little hearts how to give back starts small—and it matters more than ever. 🥫🤍
This Saturday, February 7, we’re supporting Scouting for Food, an annual community food drive helping families facing hunger right here at home.
Easy ways to get young kids involved:
✨ Let them pick out canned goods at the store
✨ Have them pack a bag or box together
✨ Talk about who the food helps and why kindness matters
Place non-perishable food items (canned fruits & veggies, peanut butter, cereal, tuna, soups) in a recycled bag or box on your doorstep by 9:00 AM. Scouts will deliver donations to Second Harvest Food Bank or a local drop-off center.
Small acts. Big lessons. Lasting impact.
This is how we raise helpers. ❤️
