While the US is celebrating Veteran's Day and France and the UK Remembrance Day, St. Martinstag happens in Germany. Named by a military man (the Roman officer Martin, later extended to Martin Luther after the Reformation), it is originally a religious festival involving children's lantern processions and good food (goose roast and ye**ty bakes🍗🥨). Enjoy November 11!

We started November in style. Great turn-out and fun last Monday at the German program Halloween Read-a-Thon 2023! Students read spooky stories from the cultures of their instructors (Austria, Germany, Nigeria, Transylvania-Romania, and USA) and won several raffle and costume prizes! Thank you to Strozier Library for the event support! Florida State University Libraries
