Here's an update from Crew Chief Paul Lucas on his deployment during Hurrican Helene:

"We are in Perry with 1000 responders and linemen. We are responding to all the rural fire depts to give relief and give out IAFF support lines for the responders that have damages to their own houses and properties."

The Plantation Fire Department Fire Chief has announced the promotion of Janelle Keyser to the rank of Captain!

Chief Don Todd wishes our newest Captain the very best, as she begins the next phase of her career.

Captain Keyser joined the department in 2004.

Over the next 20 years, she was promoted to Lieutenant (2018) and obtained numerous State of Florida Certifications.

She has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Emergency Management, and she is currently working on her Masters degree in Executive Fire Administration.

When Captain Keyser is not on shift at the Fire Department, she likes to play pickleball, go paddleboarding, travel to adventurous locations around the world, go camping, and do pretty much anything outdoors.

We would like to thank her for many years of dedication and hard work and we ask you to please join us in congratulating Captain Janelle Keyser on her well-deserved promotion! Stay safe out there!
