Transparent Retirement Group
Helping you retire with confidence, grow your wealth, and protect what matters most.
It is easy to treat the market like a scoreboard even when the money is not going anywhere soon. Short term swings matter a lot less than most people think once a plan is actually in place.
How often do you find yourself checking? 😅🤔
If the market dropped 30% the year you retired, would your plan still hold up? 🤔
This is called sequence of returns risk. It means the timing of a market downturn matters just as much as the downturn itself. Take a hit early in retirement while you’re withdrawing money, and your savings may never fully recover, even if the market bounces back later.
Retirement planning isn’t just about growing your money. It’s about building an income strategy that can hold up when the market doesn’t.
Have you ever run this scenario for your own plan? Tell us in the comments. 👇🏻
A year ago, the conversation was about rate cuts and cooling inflation. Now inflation is climbing again and the Fed may raise rates instead. That is a fast turnaround.
If you are retired or close to it, this is exactly why a plan cannot be set once and forgotten. The economy moved in a matter of months, and the assumptions behind a retirement plan need to keep up.
Reviewing where things stand today, not where they stood last year, is what keeps a plan working.
When did you last take a fresh look at your retirement plan against today’s numbers?
Nobody can tell you where the market will be in six months, a year, or two years out. Wars start and end, interest rates climb and fall, and the headlines rarely settle down.
So when things feel uncertain, a lot of the conversations we have with clients come back to one idea: guarantees.
One approach worth understanding is a strategy that lets you share in part of the market's growth while
protecting against the downside when the market drops. It is not the right fit for everyone, but knowing the option exists changes how you think about risk in retirement.
How much market risk feels comfortable to you at this stage of life?

Happy 4th of July from all of us at TRG.
Today is about grilling out, watching fireworks, and spending time with the people who matter most. We hope you get a real break to enjoy it.
From our team to yours, have a safe and happy Independence Day. ✨
Most of us will happily shop around for a better phone plan, then leave a life insurance policy untouched for thirty years.
The policy you bought back then was built around the life you had back then. Your income, your dependents, your health, and the products available have all moved since. What made sense in your forties is not guaranteed to still be the best structure in your sixties.
A review does not commit you to changing anything. It just tells you whether the thing you have been paying into all these years is still doing its job.
When did anyone last actually look at a policy you have had for years? Tell us in the comments. 👇🏻
The steady part of your retirement savings has more options today than it did just a few years ago, and most people have not stopped to look.
The rate environment has changed the math. But a bigger headline number is not automatically the right fit. The better question is what you actually need this money to do, and when you need it to do it. Steady growth for a spouse ten years out is a different job than income you plan to draw on next year.
What is the money question you keep putting off? Share it below and let's hear how others are thinking about it. 🤔

You spent decades planning for retirement. A lot of the rules you planned around just changed.
New tax laws, a shaky market, and longer lifespans mean the plan you built a few years ago may not work the way you expected.
This July, Jared Passman and Jason Kiley of Transparent Retirement Group are hosting complimentary dinner seminars around the Tampa Bay area to walk through what actually changed and the moves that still hold up.
This dinner is designed exclusively for guests age 55 and older with at least $250,000 in investable assets, so the conversation stays focused on people it can truly help.
Pick the date that fits your schedule and reserve your spot at the link or call (813) 678-5330.

Most people obsess over how much they're saving for retirement. Far fewer ask how much of it they'll actually get to keep.
Here's the part that catches people off guard. The dollars sitting in a pretax account were never fully yours. You have a silent partner, the IRS, and the size of their cut depends on tax rates nobody can predict 20 or 30 years out. If you started young and let it compound, a big share of that balance is growth, and every dollar of it gets taxed on the way out.
That doesn't make pretax saving wrong. For plenty of people it's exactly right. What it usually means is you don't want everything sitting in one bucket. Money that gets taxed differently gives you choices later, and choices are what real flexibility in retirement is built on.
Where does most of your retirement money live right now, pretax, Roth, or a mix? Curious how people are thinking about this one.
We came for the street festival. We’re staying for the neighborhood. 🎉
This past Friday we set up at Third Friday in Safety Harbor. They blocked off Main Street, vendors filled every corner, and there were so many friendly faces out. We had the best time meeting so many of you.
But we’ll let you in on a little secret about why we were really there. 👀
We’re opening a satellite office in Safety Harbor! 🏡
That means we get to be part of this community for real, not just one Friday a month, but as your neighbors. More conversations, more plain English retirement talk, and a local spot to grab a coffee and ask us whatever’s been on your mind.
To everyone who stopped by our table, thank you. You made our first Third Friday one to remember. 💙
Were you out on Main Street Friday? Drop a 🙋 in the comments. We’d love to know if we met you.
