One ingredient, a handful of possibilities. 🍃

Dragonwell. Darjeeling. Formosa Oolong. Three teas that couldn’t look more different, yet they all begin with the same plant: Camellia sinensis.

Dragonwell is a green tea, with leaves flattened into smooth jade blades. Darjeeling is best known as a black tea, with dark, wiry leaves and a rich, layered cup. Formosa Oolong falls somewhere beautifully in between, gently rolled leaves that slowly unfurl as they steep.

The differences come down to what happens after harvest. The timing of oxidation, the craft of the maker, and generations of technique transform one plant into teas with completely different aromas, flavors, and appearances.

Same leaf. Different journeys. 🍵
