“Emergency!” was a fictional 1970s television show about Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics John Gage and Roy DeSoto. At that time, the prehospital medical services and procedures they portrayed on television were cutting-edge. The show inspired a generation of men and women to join the ranks of volunteer and career firefighters and EMS providers. Randolph Mantooth, the actor who portrayed John Gage, has just passed away at age 80.

This evening, TEVFD responded to a motor vehicle crash on Tidewater Trail. As part of our safety program, the second arriving unit stopped short of the scene and deployed Cones, Retroreflective signage, and deployable speed bumps to slow traffic for our responders. This will be used more frequently to make a safe work zone for our Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, and Tow Operators. We would like to acknowledge Northern Neck Insurance Company for providing the grant funding for this life safety equipment.
