Things were going well until he discovered that there were currently five shards of Narsil not six as his parchment listed. Not since King Elendil shattered the sword during the War of the Last Alliance and his son Isildur used the broken blade to cut the One Ring from Sauron’s hand, ending his reign of terror, had such a disaster befallen the famed First Age Dwarven weapon!
