Legacy ECHS
Legacy Early College High School's official page.
As many of you know, last night the board of trustees voted to terminate my contract and I will no longer have the privilege of being the principal at Legacy. It has been the highlight of my career to serve the students and parents at this wonderful campus. I am extremely humbled and thankful for the support that I have been shown. We will keep everyone updated at page Support Ms. Kelly.

Susan Garry has been notified by the SAT College Board that she is a National Merit Scholarship finalist. The Legacy senior was named a semi-finalist earlier in the year, and has now met all requirements to advance to the finalist standing in the competition.
Garry began preparing for the for the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) during the summer before the test. She worked to meet checkpoints given by the Legacy staff to stay on target for success, and said a big part of that success was the online learning site, Kahn Academy.
“I worked on Kahn Academy a lot and that really helped me hone the skills that I needed to perform well on the PSAT,” Garry said. “Kahn Academy is an online learning site which offers personalized learning to individual students which includes a PSAT practice program that helps you focus specifically on the skills tested on PSAT.”
Garry is a Superintendent’s Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society. Her activities have included chess club, music club, and BLADE (Beginners Learning Alternative Designs for Energy). She is a Tae Kwon Do instructor, a lifeguard, and has done research for the Taylor Conservation and Heritage Society.
While at Legacy, Garry has taken three courses that are taught in partnership with the University of Texas including Engineering I, Engineering II and Computer Science.
As a result of her finalist standing, Garry will be considered for National Merit Scholarships to be offered in 2018. She has been accepted into University of Texas and Cornell.
