Perfect Counsel


Listening to wise counsel is essential to our Christian growth. Others who are more seasoned in the Lord than we are may see areas of our lives that are prone to deception. We need each other, and God loves to bless us with people who will help us on our journey. However, all wise counsel should point to Jesus and not create dependency upon man.

It’s important to seek prayer, support, and direction from others, but ultimately, we must have a relationship with the Lord for ourselves. We must know his voice and learn to discern his wisdom for our lives. Counselors, mentors, pastors, and leaders are prone to error simply because they’re human. Take the time each day to seek the wisdom that only comes from above. Jesus is speaking; we only need to surrender our thoughts and listen.

Jesus, meet with me today and speak words of wisdom and perfect counsel. I yearn to know your voice so well that I never question what you say. Teach me to wait upon you with expectancy and rest patiently in your faithfulness. Speak to me and wrap me in the power of your life-changing words.
