When was the last time you had childlike fun?

There is a reason little kids laugh more than adults and get excited at the most mundane things, they live in the present moment!!!They are living life and having fun while doing it!

When was the last time you did something for joy, fun & laughter?

When our family went zip lining in Costa Rica, I laughed every time I went down another line. Screaming for joy with pure exhilaration! Was there fear? Absolutely! Yet once I stepped off the platform and willed myself down the line, the freedom I felt, flying through the air, the trees below me… Screaming loud at the top of my lungs, embarrassing my children the entire time. Pure joy exuded out of every pore!!!

I’d love to know the last time you had childlike fun!

Before we were KALM we were simply KLM, or 6 kids & 6 packs as some of you may remember!

Despite having known A for many years it wasn’t until the untimely death of A’s husband, that A became our beautiful and much needed vowel.

After her husband’s passing,  A decided to create a team in Gary’s memory  for the Annual 5K race that supports their home town’s Youth Center.

In 2019, (KALM got to run in person, together) the race became a virtual affair, after their daughter, Avianna would be studying abroad in Australia and asked other team members who couldn’t make it, to run their own 5k in her father’s memory. In passing, this idea was mentioned to the Fundraiser Organizer, they loved it and decided to create the Gary A Winglovitz Virtual Run as an option for those out of towners to participate. Participants from Australia, Spain, Peru, Italy, Seattle, California, North Carolina, Maryland and Pennsylvania have joined Team Winglovitz and it continues to grow each year.

(Who knew that the very next year, the Virtual Run would be so important for this fundraiser? )

This year was no exception. A was able to fly to her home town to be there in person, while KLM participated remotely.

It’s a beautiful way for us to honor this beautiful man who loved athletics, the outdoors and giving back to community.
