This past Sunday, Rabbi Segal of Temple Chai welcomed AZ Family into the congregation’s new home.
Jones Studio Project Manager Rob Huff joined Rabbi Segal on camera to speak to what the campus is designed to do: let joy, light, community, security, and welcome coexist. The built-in flexibility of the space will allow the congregation to grow and change within their forever home.
We love when architecture serves its community.
Jones Studio had the honor of participating in the ceremonial Torah walk with the congregation of Temple Chai. Hundreds of people participated in walking the scrolls by hand the 3.5 miles to their new home. Temple Chai is finally home!

Two years in, and the Abbey just keeps getting better.
What was once a 1929 First Baptist Church — then gutted by fire and abandoned — is now one of downtown Phoenix’s most cherished gathering places. The rose window still watches over it all. The historic brick still holds the memory of a century of community. And the courtyard? Full of people, music, and birthday cake.
Jones Studio is proud to have led the rehabilitation that gave this Phoenix landmark a new chapter, and grateful to everyone who showed up to celebrate two remarkable years.
Here’s to many more. 🌹
