About a year ago, the rescue community came together to help this dog and his owner. We got them off the streets and got them to South Carolina to live with family.

The dog's owner's path has taken an unfortunate turn which left Deacon (the dog) on the streets -- he was picked up and is at animal control in South Carolina.... waiting to be killed :( unless we are gifted a way to help. The shelter is full so he is sitting in a cage in the hallway, with another dog. All shelters are on overload.

We have connected with a rescue in South Carolina who can help with some footwork. But, Deacon needs a place or his troubled journey will not have a happy ending.

He is a VERY, very, very nice dog. Nice to people, friendly, very well mannered, and good with other dogs. He has had some service-dog training. He's a sweet, calm, and gentle boy.

We have limited time to get him out of the shelter. We do not have an immediate place for him. Do you have a trusted friend in SC who might foster? Very worst case, we need an Arizona foster or home for him -- and we will work on transport. Obviously, that is an expensive option, but we will do what we have to do. We cannot go through the transport process without having a committed place for him here in Arizona.

We would like to find a home or foster home for him in South Carolina if at all possible.
