Independence Ink

“Dada, is this a heart?”

I look over and Elijah is holding a sharpie, and had just drawn his first heart with a marker. He used chalk prior, but we had been working in letters that day and it was so awesome to see and feel that moment. It was a huge moment for me because I feel like it pushed me into more of a direction of teaching him to embrace love, and that be the ultimate way I would base how I raise him.
So when my friend visited from out of town I got this, and have been having sooo much fun coloring it in different every day now 😝 I’m seriously about to get more of his drawings so I can color them in with markers
