A CLUB RECORD HAS BEEN TIED:
Yesterday at Club Time Trials, Sean Rollins tied our club record for v-S-peak, at 9.0 meters per second!
"v-S-peak" is a measure of peak sprint speed, extracted from our Short Sprint time trial. Sean matches the 5-year-old record set by Jonathan Lim in 2013. Congratulations, Sean!
A finish photo of the record has been posted to the FB Event page (see our past events).
Full Results of the Club Time Trials are posted here:

Hey guys! Nathaniel Chan here. We had a decent showing on Monday but I know we can do better! The weather wasn’t on our side either so I don’t blame y’all for not coming out. However, for those that did come out, y’all are real troopers! I do realize that there may have been some confusion on exactly where to meet so this time around I’ll choose a much more accessible and easy to find spot.
I’m planning on the next group run to be on THURSDAY of this week at 6PM at the SDFC field in front of the entrance of the SDFC. We’ll start the run from there and run to and around Tempe Town Lake. (Start at the SDFC, get onto University Drive, turn onto Mill Ave., get onto the Tempe Beach Park, run and then cross the bridge right across from the Tempe Center of the Arts, run along the bike path past the Sand Volleyball courts and Tempe Town Lake Marina, get onto the N. Scottsdale/Rural Road Bridge, run all the way down to E. Lemon Street, then home stretch to the SDFC Field Entrance. About 5.5-6 miles total.)
This will again be another social run so nothing serious will be going on. I hope to see more of you there on Thursday! The weather is expected to be a lot more friendly so hopefully that will motivate some of y’all to come out and run! It was great meeting some of you guys but I want to meet more of you!
Hey guys don’t forget! 6PM at the Tempe Town Lake Marina! Hope to see as many of you there!
Hey guys! Nathaniel Chan here. I was recently added as an admin by our club sponsor, Professor Ashbrook. I recently had a meeting with him to revive the running group and that is what we will strive to do. I personally think a group social run to kick things back off as our first event back into the swing of things will get us back on our feet and eventually over time, back up and running full time with both morning and evening sessions with social runs and workouts.
SO with that being said, how about we go ahead and kick off a new beginning with a nice little group social run on Monday at 6pm at the Tempe Town Lake Marina and do a 5 mile easy run around Tempe Town Lake!
Yes it’s only 5 miles and yes it’s around Tempe Town Lake the most basic place to run in Tempe but the point of this first meeting will be to re-gain our bearings. After this social run, going out onto the green belt, the canals, etc. as well as race specific workouts will be implemented.
Hope to see you all at the Tempe Town Lake Marina on Monday at 6pm! (I’ll be parked at the parking lot next to the VELA Apartments! I’ll also most likely be in short shorts so look out for me!)
