This Friday, the snobs are bringing you a special treat - a deviation from our typical “techno” leaning vibe… Djrum from the UK will be spinning an all vinyl set showcasing his cinematic technique & genre-spanning selection

From 2nd Drop, R&S, Ilian Tape, and Fabric’s Houndstooth imprint.. Djrum’s catalogue is generational. His releases fuse jungle breaks, dusty pianos, and acid lines into long-form narratives. His signature vinyl-only approach to DJing lends unique characteristics to his performance - a rare, dying art in 2025

1997 >> 2025… Swell + Techno Snobs + Walter Studios unite to bring a rare experience to the valley for the millennium’s first iteration of TRAUMA - the legendary 90s party that first saw Surgeon’s live act touch down in the desert 🌵

Swell is a name that needs no introduction for generations of ravers past - the brand’s record store & promotion efforts helped set the tone for rave culture evolution here in the 90s, a torch we have done our best to carry since 2017 🕰️

Birmingham’s own Anthony Child—aka Surgeon—forged the “Birmingham sound” as resident of the House Of God nights, cutting his first Surgeon EP in Na**lm Death drummer Mick Harris’s makeshift basement studio and instantly hacking new code into UK techno. Since then he’s dropped era-defining albums for Downwards, Tresor, Counterbalance and his own Dynamic Tension (Basictonalvocabulary, Balance, Force + Form, Breaking the Frame, From Farthest Known Objects, Crash Recoil), while warping genres in projects like British Murder Boys, Trade and Multiples. Fabric mixes, BBC Essential sets and globe-spanning, modular-driven live workouts cemented his rep as the hard-edge oracle of the scene. Think industrial propulsion, broken-beat swing and psychedelic modular textures—sliced with the surgical precision that keeps every floor locked and levitating. 🛠️🧙‍♂️

Joe Bear, or Phoenix’s Techno Godfather as we like to refer to him as, has been a staple in the scene stretching back just as long as Swell - playing a similarly pivotal role in shaping the valley’s rave soundtrack and culture. Joe Bear brings a heady, irresistably danceable energy to the decks. Impeccable mixing and selection refined through 30+ years of experience 🌀
