We recently worked on a home where the fireplace was sitting directly on a 4-inch concrete slab with ZERO beam support underneath.

That’s a problem.

Over time, all that weight in one concentrated area can lead to:
• Cracking in the slab
• Uneven settling
• Separation from the structure
• Potential long-term structural damage

A fireplace isn’t light—especially when it’s masonry or stone. It needs proper load distribution, not just a thin slab holding everything.

What we did:
✔️ Lifted and stabilized the fireplace
✔️ Added proper support to carry the load
✔️ Reinforced the structure to prevent future settling

Now the weight is where it should be—properly supported. Also with Warranty.

If you’re seeing cracks around your slab, fireplace, sloping floors, or gaps forming… don’t ignore it. Call for a Foundation Consultation

Parging Matters (And Why Your Foundation May Need It)

If you’ve ever seen the side of a foundation with cracks, rough spots, or even rock and rebar showing, that’s a sign the surface is breaking down over time.

🔍 What causes this?
• 🌧️ Moisture & weather exposure (rain, sprinklers, soil contact)
• 🔥 Texas heat drying out the surface too fast
• 🧱 Natural wear over time
• ⚠️ Poor original concrete finish (honeycombing)
• 🌱 Soil movement shifting against the foundation

🛠️ What is parging?

Parging is a protective cement coating applied to the outside of your foundation wall. It helps:
• Seal and protect against moisture
• Cover exposed aggregate or steel
• Prevent further deterioration
• Give your foundation a clean, finished look

💪 Why it’s important

Ignoring exposed or damaged foundation surfaces can lead to:
• Water intrusion
• Faster concrete deterioration
• Rusting rebar (which expands and cracks concrete)

— Protect your foundation the right way so it lasts.

If your foundation is showing signs like cracking, flaking, or exposed rock, let’s get it handled before it gets worse.
