The Temple Police Department is honoring Officer T. “Charlie” Aumua with a special tribute outside headquarters — his patrol vehicle has been placed in front of the building as a symbol of his service and sacrifice. The public is invited to stop by and pay their respects.

Officer Aumua tragically drowned Friday while off duty at the lake with his family. His body was recovered Saturday morning after a multi-agency search.

A public funeral will be held this Friday, August 8 at 10 a.m. at Vista Community Church (7051 Stonehollow Dr., Temple).
