Wood- ALWAYS GO CEDAR! Do not get convinced in putting up pine pickets! We use top of the line Western Red Cedar pickets

Posts- when building a wood privacy fence you can use wood posts or metal posts. We prefer metal because it is a longer lasting option! Make sure your builder is using a thick post! You do not want a thin post that will bend at the ground with the first strong wind!
If you choose to go wood post be sure that it is treated lumber that is being used!

Always get a rot board! It will protect the bottom of your pickets allowing them to last so much longer! If your pickets are sitting directly on the ground they are soaking up moisture and will also get tore up by that w**d eater!

The build- Not only do you need your posts at least 2 feet in the ground to create a strong structure, you also need 3 rails! Structure is everything and you want to be paying for a fence that will last you years on end!
