Terrell's Books and Crannies hosting Taylor Anderson on Saturday

A release party for author Taylor Anderson’s 10th and latest book “Straits of Hell” will be held 4-6 p.m. May 9 at Books and Crannies, 209 West Moore Ave.
Anderson is the author of the “Destroyer Man” series and will be on hand for his only Texas appearance to visit and sign copies of his book. Refreshments will be served and door prizes given away.
For more information on Anderson, visit www.taylorandersonauthor.com.
About his latest book ..... New York Times bestselling author Taylor Anderson’s phenomenal alternate history Destroyermen series continues as a game-changing conspiracy throws the hope of honor, trust, and survival into chaos….
Matt Reddy’s old Asiatic Fleet destroyer USS Walker has been mysteriously transported to an alternate version of earth. Here WWII is no longer raging, and Reddy and his crew have been trying to find a new place for themselves in this strange new world.
Now, along with the felinoid Lemurians and Imperial allies, they fight to keep the reptilian Grik, a race growing in supremacy, from reconquering the Lemurians’ ancestral home on Madagascar. Reddy and his crew are exhausted, far from reinforcements, and wildly outnumbered, so the odds seem greater than ever before. As for the fate of the Americas, Don Hernan and the evil Dominion have gathered to annihilate the forces behind the walls of Fort Defiance as a shadowy power with an agenda all its own rises with chilling resolve.
As the war teeters on a knife-edge, a tipping point may have been reached at last—and cold steel and hot-blooded valor will remain the ultimate weapons.

Spring Terrell ArtWalk set Saturday, May 2

A number of Terrell area businesses will take on an artistic flair when the first installment of Terrell ArtWalk for 2015 returns.
Participating merchants and artists hailed the spring and fall 2014 Terrell ArtWalk events as being highly successful.
Artists ranged from those providing porcelain doll painting to sculptors, painters and jewelry craftsmen.
Terrell ArtWalk Spring 2015 is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 2 at a variety of participating Terrell boutiques, shops, museums and other locations.
The event aims to give area artists and craftsmen public exposure while encouraging residents and visitors to stroll downtown and other small business venues while shopping and enjoying free entertainment, art viewing and demonstrations. During Terrell ArtWalk 2014 many of the participating venues also provided free refreshments and special offers for attendees.
Artists interested in participating and being paired with a local business for the event are encouraged to contact Stephanie Elswick at The Terrell Tribune - 972-563-6476 or via email at [email protected].
Musicians interested in playing or performing for a portion of the event are asked to contact Kevin Curtis at Troubador Music - 972-285-1309 or via email at [email protected].
While there is no payment available for artists or musicians, art work will be available for sale and performers may make tips. Terrell ArtWalk is hosted by the Terrell Small Business Organization and the Terrell Chamber of Commerce.

Terrell fabric artist Barbara Booth, seen here working in her downtown Terrell Mostly Quits Studio, was among the artisans participating in the first Terrell Artwalk events held in the spring and fall of 2014.
