Sunday morning at the strawberry patch here in the Bronx. I have to talk about these.
Chive blossoms. People sleep on them. They really shouldn't.
A chive plant in year one? Rinky d**k. Year two, a little bigger. Year three you might get four or five blossoms. By year four, it's insane. Look at that.
And they earn their spot in the garden. The bees come to them. They protect the strawberries growing right next to them. And those purple flowers aren't just for looks. You can steep them into tea, blend them into a salad dressing, mix them with sour cream for a dip, drop them on a baked potato or a bagel.
If you're driving past the farm this week, the iris show is going off out front too. Come say hi.

She trusted me without fully understanding what I told her. Honestly? That's usually when deals work out.
Phyllis came to me wanting a new home. Her offer was
contingent on selling her current house first, which in this Bronx market is the weakest position you can buy in. Sellers look at "contingent" and pick the cleaner offer 9 times out of 10.
I sat down with her and walked through it step by step. Minute by minute, in her words.
We made it happen.
