Our mission is to make the Bronx a more beautiful, equitable and economically vibrant place to live
📣Message from our Community Partners! Our friends at Groundswell Community Mural Project are excited to collaborate with the Office of the Mayor, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, and the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation this summer to create 12 community murals across all five boroughs as part of the World Cup Activations Events. They are seeking your feedback through this community survey to help inform the murals' designs. 👉CLICK THIS LINK to share your thoughts: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=xxmdpTrsGk2Qe4-yrBWdG_C98ZAI5kVIluG-EewN6kZUQ0YyNUQwVVBNSlRPNDIwRkdNUzA4VzU3Qy4u

WHEDco thanks MSG Entertainment and the Garden of Dreams Foundation for their generous donation of tickets to Games 3 and 4 of the NBA Finals, as the New York Knicks continue to face off against the San Antonio Spurs! Many of our youth had never attended an event at Madison Square Garden, let alone a championship game of this magnitude. To see their role models play live, surrounded by thousands of fans, witnessing a historic moment together with their families, is something these young people will never forget. In communities like the South Bronx, where families often face significant economic pressures, opportunities like these are rare… which is what makes this all the more special.
Thank you to our Youth Development & Afterschool Staff for attending the games with our students and their families, making sure they had a safe and rewarding experience. And thank you again to MSG and the Garden of Dreams Foundation for continuing to invest in the next generation! Go Knicks 🏀 💪🏆

On Thursday, June 4th, WHEDco was proud to join the Rally for NYCBenefits organized by United Neighborhood Houses and partners, as more than 60 advocates, case managers, social workers, and program users gathered on the steps of City Hall to call on the City to restore funding for NYCBenefits, a program that helped 34,000 New Yorkers in FY25 access food, housing, and healthcare assistance.
