The Colorado Secretary of State's Office admitted that they mailed about 30,000 notices to non-citizens that encouraged them to register to vote in Colorado. Colorado is one of at least 18 states with driver's licenses for such persons. The Secretary of State's office said the card listed citizenship as a requirement to vote, and that they are sending out follow-up notices emphasizing that individuals must be citizens to vote in our elections. The office further assured Coloradans that the matter is under investigation and that safeguards will be put in place to ensure that ineligible persons do not register and vote.
