👑 In 9 weeks, the 2026 United States of America's Pageants’ National Titleholders will be crowned in Las Vegas!👸 The United States of America Pageants community is AMAZING and I’m so excited to be with the USOA sash sisters soon!🤩

Last week, I shared my favorite quote by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: “Everyone can be great because everyone can serve.” I’ve been fortunate to serve in multiple ways and enrolled in law school because I aspire to earn my Juris Doctor designation in order to serve society even more well. Because of the law student status, I was honored to attend the most recent Red Mass Dinner, a tradition that brings together members of the legal profession for reflection and renewal.🕊️

At the Portland event, U.S. Immigration Judge, Ret. John F. Gossart, Jr., spoke about his career that included three decades adjudicating immigration law, answering the call to serve with integrity in the legal profession with Catholic Social Teaching. His reflections underscored the importance of due process, the independence of the judiciary and the vital role of pro bono attorneys in ensuring access to justice. ⚖️

Pictured with Judge Gossart is Sister Veronica Schueler, FSE who serves as Chancellor for the Archdiocese of Portland as well as on the Catholic Charities’ board of directors.💒

This week, I’m showing a 2022 image from my licensed massage therapy office: a framed acknowledgment of my service on the Xpose Hope Advisory Board, the same year I was recognized as Volunteer of the Year for that anti-trafficking nonprofit. I’m against slavery of every kind and chose to serve with Xpose Hope to help reduce harm to vulnerable folks. ❤️‍🩹

National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month culminates in the annual observation of National Freedom Day on February 1, 2026!🗽

Since January is known for Human Trafficking Awareness Month, it’s a great time to educate ourselves about human trafficking and learn to spot the signs of modern slavery. It is also a good time for us take these messages to our workplaces, our churches, our schools, our representatives and everywhere else. ⚖️

This time of year, I’m especially thankful for the ability to enjoy volunteer activities in community. Please feel welcome to reach out to me and I’ll help you get involved in this important work!💪

🎄Last night, I performed with my church choir in cathedral-like acoustics at The Grotto Portland!🎶 Tonight is the last opportunity to visit their Christmas Festival of Lights this season and the Chapel of Mary music program includes reknown pianist Michael Allen Harrison! 🎹 There are also puppet shows and caroling in the pavilion tent, and music all around the grounds. And of course—millions of lights, including the giant, walk-thru Christmas tree.

This Christmas season, I’m especially thankful for the ability to enjoy festive activities in community. Please feel welcome to visit if you want to attend a lovely celebration of the true reason for the season🙏💒🕊️
