Everyone has different opinions and preferences for which workout format is best. Some prefer heavy cardio for short periods of time or light cardio for longer periods while others strictly weight train. No matter what your favorite style of workout it, what’s most important is that you do it.
If you know that you’re tired after work and may not make it to the gym, make sure to plan your workout in the morning. If you prefer working out after work, don’t forget to pack a gym bag to avoid the temptation of staying home.
Whatever you do, be smart and realistic. Don’t set expectations and goals for yourself that you won’t follow. And always remember that a bad workout is better than no workout.

Time is the top barrier reported by adults that keep them from exercising. Whether it be a demanding job, taking your child to extracurricular activities, or having other hobbies you would rather spend your time doing, everyone has a barrier to exercise at some point in their life.
How do we overcome those barriers? A great way to start is by tracking how your time is spent on a daily basis. Try writing down how you spend your time each day for one week and see when and how much time you can realistically spend on exercise.

Group fitness has a unique way of empowering you to push harder than you would on your own. Your perception of what you think you can do changes when you see others around you accomplishing something you didn’t think was possible. You ask yourself, “If they can do it, why can’t I?”
But how do you push past that mental barrier that’s keeping you from doing more? There are many ways but I’ve found a few to be critical when trying to increase performance.
1. Hydration - 20-30 minutes before each class, you should have 13-20 oz of water.
2. Pre-workout fuel - the body’s main source of energy comes from carbohydrates. Simple carbs like fruit and dairy are best before a workout.
3. Focus on your breathing - when you start to tire during a workout, shift your focus to controlling your breathing patterns
4. Set a goal - do one more rep, increase your RPM by x amount, try a heavier weight, even if not for the whole set, etc.
YOUR ONLY LIMIT IS YOU!
