June is Pride Month in the US, a chance to acknowledge the struggles and celebrate the contributions of members of the LGBTQ+ community. We confess that the church has not always been a good ally to these siblings in Christ. Yet, we are proud that our congregation
at Mays Chapel UMC voted overwhelmingly to become a Reconciling Congregation, dedicated to embracing and affirming the full presence, participation, gifts, service and wisdom of all who may have felt excluded from the church in the past. If you are a member

Each year across the country, millions of people face mental health challenges such as anxiety disorders, depressive episodes, bipolar disorders, and other mental health issues. As we mark Mental Health Awareness Month this May, it's more important than ever to eliminate the stigma associated with mental health. No person should have to face these challenges alone. Every challenge we’ve faced has shaped us into who we are today. By embracing and sharing our experiences, we empower others to do the same. Together, we create a movement of courage, healing, and connection. Never forget: It's okay to ask for help. You are not alone.
