Life (and this world) can be filled with such coldness. It can feel beyond you. It feels beyond us. As dark as the darkness can possibly be, it is presently. That doesn’t mean you are alone. Please know that you are never without someone. You do not have to battle this world yourself. We can and must take care of one another, of ourselves, and of our community. THAT is our hope in hopeless times. Never stop telling your people you love them. Never be afraid to say you need a hand to reach out. Never stop standing up for one another. There is no legislation that can erase your existence, there is no authoritarian power that can stop you from looking out for those most vulnerable in your community. Our song “20-25” will be on The Emo Diaries, Chapter 13, released in conjunction with Deep Elm Records’ 30th anniversary. This is one of the final recordings we did with Jim. Additionally, Deep Elm Records & the Emo Diaries series has been a massive part of a lot of our musical upbringing. Many of our heroes like Samiam & Jimmy Eat World have been a part of this compilation series. To be amongst them is pretty damn special. We’ve said multiple times after finding out that we’re on this how excited Jim would’ve been. Hope Jim’s proud. We are.
