All good things must come to an end, and that’s true for the AMERICANS Smithsonian traveling exhibition in Kansas. This weekend is your LAST CHANCE to see the national exhibition at the Wyandotte County Historical Museum in Bonner Springs before it heads back to Washington, DC.

Humanities Kansas Declarations Conversations 07/01/2026

Cue the fireworks! The world premiere of the new Declaration at 250 short film is here! Produced by Humanities Kansas and the Creative Impact Alliance, the film captures the spirit of Kansans coming together for readings and discussions about the Declaration of Independence in at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Miners Hall Museum in Franklin, Republic County Historical Society & Museum in Belleville, and Tonganoxie Historical Museum.

HK has opportunities and resources for you to take part in Declaration at 250 events on July 4 and throughout 2026.

💡 Through July 2026 – See “Americans” partner sites exhibitions: “Martin and Osa Johnson: Origins” exhibition at the Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum in Chanute, the “Serpent Intaglio” exhibition at the Coronado Quivira Museum in Lyons, and “Beautifully Integrated” at the Olathe Downtown Library, presented by Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm.
